Warning for 7
Do not Install Google Desktop on Windows 7!!! Its fine on Vista but 7 -_-
On install it was fine. Until restarting. It takes ages to shutdown by taking ages to close the program. And on shutting down idles at Shutting Down text and will not shut down unless you use the hard shut off button. Then on restart it limits the pc by removing the wifi and sound icon from your taskbar and such. Even uninstalling it keeps the problem. So I gotta do system restore! So don't install it unless you want a corrupted windows 7.

Thanks for the warning. Anyway Google Desktop is useless for Windows 7; there are the desktop gadgets and also there's already an index system in the Windows Start menu (the "Search Programs and files" thing).
However I really liked that program when I had Windows XP instead of Vista (the good ol' days with my laptop...).

I don't really trust Google (downloadable) apps, they run a process at startup called GoogleUpdate.exe which I am not sure about.
Though like Alessandro, I really liked Google Desktop back when I had my XP laptop, tho back then I was a n00b xD

Re: Warning for 7
Btw the way. My computer problems were my SD card driver again -_- But It runs fine now. So try Google Desktop. It was just my pc problems.
And I find this has less affect on system resources, dosent affect startup time and has a lot cooler apps avalible for it.
