Questions when I buy Windows 7

Let say I buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade for my Windows Vista Home Basic. Is there any option to reformat and clean install Windows 7 or is it only for Upgrading?

What do you mean by that?

It works for the 7 CD.

All you need to do is backup your vista files.

Leave your vista on your machine. Then do what it says on your guide and you will clean install over vista. Just follow the guide to be able to activate it.

Why the upgrade? Because it's cheaper? You should get ultimate!
