A Wierd Crash Empty A Wierd Crash

So as most of you know, I have Windows 7 installed on my smaller harddrive, and Windows Vista on my bigger SATA HD, well I have a even larger sata hard drive, I pealed away from an external casing, and at first, I used it for Os X, I got bored and frustrated with Mac and Apple, so I decided it would make a great windows 7 hard drive, so I format it to fat, through os x installation disk, then delete and format it to NTSC or however it is spelt. and install, the installation was fast and flawless, no worries there. I boot it up, everything seems fine, lah de do... I click start, and it glows... but the start button doesn't show... eventually it comes up, at this point I am like "okay need to install some video drivers", I click on internet explorer to get my nvid drivers, it runs for a bit, then freezes up, I try to close it, but my mouse movement does not register, so finally everything I was trying to do, happens in an instant, my cursor goes beserk, and I click out of IE after waiting for MS to find a solution that was non existant, I click start again, and my user picture at the top right of the start menu, has a purple box around it, and then explorer crashes, I re open explorer, and try to go into my old hard drive for nvid drivers, click on the intallation, click next, then next, but that third next, the Driver install crashed. at this point navigation was impossible, and applications were unusable. But I never had this problem on my 140gb sata, and my 80gb maxtor ide, which had the RC, and the RTM and both of those worked like they should.

help?
